Grasstec Stainless Steel Soil Core Sampler
The Grasstec Soil Core Sampler is a strong, durable soil sampling tool designed for farmers, agricultural consultants and advisors carrying out accurate soil testing.
Made locally in Ireland from high-quality stainless steel, the sampler is designed to take consistent soil cores to the correct sampling depth. A built-in foot pedal makes it easier to push the sampler into the ground, even in more difficult soil conditions, while the collection cone holds the cores as you move across the field before transferring the sample for analysis.
Regular soil sampling provides valuable information on soil fertility and nutrient status, helping farmers make better-informed decisions around fertiliser and lime applications.
For deeper soil sampling, we also offer a Tillage Soil Core Sampler.

How to Take a Representative Soil Sample:
For reliable soil analysis, the sample should accurately represent the field or sampling area. Take soil cores to a consistent depth of 100mm (4") and collect a minimum of 20 cores while walking a W-shaped pattern across the area.
Avoid unusual areas such as gateways, drinking troughs, ditches, dung or urine patches, old fences, and locations where fertiliser, manure or lime has previously been heaped or spilled. Mix the collected cores thoroughly before taking a representative sub-sample for laboratory analysis.
As a general guide, sample separate areas where there are significant differences in soil type, cropping history, drainage, slope or crop performance.
